Miso koji without additives in jar 750g
Hikari Miso Maru-Mu Kokusan Miso
All-natural soy miso with sweet rice sourdough
An essential condiment in Japanese cuisine
First appeared in Japan in the 7th century, but was then reserved for the nobility and samurai. Since then, miso 味噌 (pronounced misso) has been an essential part of everyday Japanese meals.
Miso from producer Hikari is produced in the Shinshu region, Nagano prefecture. Renowned for its natural riches (water, air, cool climate), it is made exclusively from the finest natural ingredients.
Behind the simplicity of its ingredients (fermented soya beans, rice or wheat, sea salt and water). Hides a complex art comparable to that of cheese in the West!
A healthy food rich in umami
This all-natural miso has been fermented with very mild kôji rice sourdough. Its ultra-mild taste preserves all the umami flavours so sought-after.
It's rich in protein and has multiple benefits for digestion, cholesterol and blood circulation. So very popular with macrobiotic enthusiasts.
